baking’s such a good gateway, no? i landed in the kitchen via cookies, as well. (p.s.: i think all nutritionist’s should post scone recipes, with serving suggestions that read “slather with butter…” seriously improves credibility. seriously!)

I need to learn how to make scones. The last time I did it, they were absolutely awful! This looks like it might be a good place to start! They’d go over very well with my family – I know it!

what sweet memories you have of your family. I have yet to make scones, as they always seem to look so different and I don’t know what style I’d prefer. I really like that yours are savory, very intriguing.

Baking is definitely my therapy. I think that’s why working at a cookie shop has been by far my most favorite job ever. Getting paid to bake and decorate cookies…not to shabby. However, the weight gain from all those cookies, not my favorite.

The scones look good! I do love a good scone in the mornin’.

I think baking out of all kitchen activities must be the most rewarding….. creates wonderful aromas, great memories, gathers everyone in a kitchen in anticipation of something very special and tasty :)

Very nice post, sis! I forgot how great it was when mom had leftover cinnamon “scraps” from her pies. Those were the best.

what great memories! my mom and my maternal grandma rarely baked and didn’t cook incredibly well, so reading your experience allowed me to get a glimpse of great memories that maybe i can create one day. i think that’s why i love baking and cooking because i didn’t have much of that growing up, ya know? can i adopt your mom for a weekend? :) j/k
