I'm sure hers is even more succulent than the original recipe because she used skin-on chicken legs. I went the opposite direction to try and lighten it up by using boneless, skinless chicken thighs. I think Luisa also used the NYTimes recipe you cited for her post. In any case, I made the recipe and it was terrific. Great flavor and fall-off-the-bone meat. It's definitely a keeper. I have a whole bag of lentils in my pantry. And my husband loves chicken thighs (I am a bit put off by the fat in them)--but this sounds good. And vinegar gives it a great pop!
